HANDING-IN DAYS
Please ensure you indicate on the entry form which day you are handing in your work.

COLLECTION POINTS/TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is available from collection points in Dundee and Edinburgh on Friday 29 July
(see time and location below). Please ensure you indicate on the entry form if you wish to use
this service. This is for entry only and if your work is not selected then you have to make your
own arrangements for collecting your work. This also applies at the end of the exhibition as it
is up to the exhibitor to arrange their own transport for their work's return.

POSTAL ENTRIES
Postal entries are accepted for those outwith Scotland, or those who can not make the hand in/
collection days stated above.
All artworks should be posted to the SMART Consultants address above.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Number of works to be submitted:
     * Up to 3 per artist

Exhibits:
     * All forms of media accepted
     * Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works may be submitted
     * Exhibits should be no more than 2 metres in any direction.
     * Participants must include a high res image of the work(s) that they are submitting on a
     CD or memory stick, this will not be returnable. Images will not be accepted via email.
     * All work should be for sale

Framing:
     * Works in clip frames will not be accepted
     * Works with uncovered glass edges will not be accepted
     * Pictures should have no attachments at the back, such as rings and hooks, as mirror
     plates will be attached to works prior to hanging

3D Works:
     * Works whose stability, materials or methods of construction could present a hazard to
     the viewing public, may be rejected on these grounds
     * A composite work must be accompanied by clear instructions as to assembly
     * Artists may indicate how, ideally, work would be best shown i.e. floor, plinth or wall
     mounted - this is essential.

Labels and Entry Form:
     * The official FOL label should be applied to each work entered.
     Labels will be available when the work is handed in and at collection points. Postal
     entries will be labelled by the FOL team on arrival.
     * In addition to the FOL label, each submitted work should have a permanently affixed
     label which gives the following information:
    
     o Name and address
     o Telephone number
     o Email address
     o Title
     o Medium
     o Price (inc 25% commission)

    * An entry form should be completed in CAPITAL LETTERS. The signed disclaimer
     indicates the acceptance of the terms & conditions of entry. Without this signature no
      submitted work can be accepted by the exhibition Custodian (see Responsibility).
     * If you complete the application form online - selecting the tick box indicates your
     acceptance of the terms & conditions.

Registration Fee:
     * Registration fee is £5 per work
     * Fees are non-refundable and must accompany works

Selection:
    * All works submitted to the exhibition are shown to the selection/hanging committee,
     whose decision to accept or reject is final.
    * The selection will take place on Monday 1 Aug 2011.
    * Artists will be notified of acceptance within one week of the selection date by email or
    telephone so please ensure your details are clearly written on the entry form and
    check all forms of contact for your result.

REMOVAL OF WORKS

Unsuccessful Work:
The location for the pick-up point for unsuccessful work will be:

We propose that unsuccessful works will have to be collected no later than Monday 15 August 2011.

Collection of Exhibited & Unsold Work:
At the close of the exhibition all exhibited work submitted will be available for collection on the
following dates:

     * Thursday 22nd September 2011, 13.00pm - 19.00pm
     * Friday 23rd September 2011, 13.00pm - 19.00pm


     * If for any reason the dates above are not suitable, please contact SMART Consultants
       to make alternative arrangements.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORKS
      * While all reasonable care is taken of works submitted, such works are at all times
      at the artist’s risk. Whether or not works are accepted for the exhibition, the
      University of Aberdeen, SMART Consultants and Fabric of the Land shall not be
      responsible for any loss or damage, however caused, either during or awaiting transit
      to and from the exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking or
       any period in which the work may be in the care and control of the
      University of Aberdeen, SMART Consultants and Fabric of the Land.
      * Artists themselves are advised to arrange proper and adequate insurance to cover
      against these risks.
      * The University of Aberdeen, SMART Consultants and Fabric of the Land cannot be
      held responsible for any damage to work in the exhibition, in transit or in storage.
      * We advise that all work submitted is sufficiently packaged.
     Disposal of Abandoned Works:
     * All works left uncollected after 30th September will become the property of Fabric of
     the Land and will be disposed of by sale or otherwise.

SALES
A commission of 25% will be charged on the catalogued price of all works sold by means of the
exhibition.

PARKING
Parking is available at SMART Consultants for collection and submission of artworks - look out for
the Fabric of the Land signs.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS & CONDITIONS
The artist’s signature on the entry form indicates his/her acceptance of the terms & conditions
of entry.

CHECKLIST FOR HANDING-IN:
     * Correctly labelled work
     * Signed entry form
     * Registration fee
     * CD or memory stick of high res images (these are non returnable)
